  • In the church

Greater Milwaukee Synod - Kingo supports the mission of the Greater Milwaukee Synod by participating in events such as the Outreach for Hope annual bike ride.

Partnerships with congregations - At Kingo we partner with All People's Church and Hephatha Lutheran Church.  Our communities come together to worship, share meals, and support those in need.

Contact the church office to find out ways to walk together with our brothers and sisters in Christ!

  • In the Community

Quilting - What do you get when a group of seamstresses meets every Tuesday for 40 years?  A lot of quilts!  The Kingo Quilters have sewn quilts for all occasions, and often donate their hand-made creations to those in need of some warmth.

Neighborhood Resource - Kingo often serves as a gathering place for the community.  Kingo hosts the spring send-off breakfast for the Shorewood Connects program where neighborhood volunteers offer assistance to residents who need help with yardwork.  Additionally, town hall meetings, REDgen events, League of Women Voters, Peace Action, Shorewood High School concerts, and the Whitefish Bay-Shorewood Nursery School all take place within Kingo's walls.

  • In the World

Ending Hunger - Kingo members formed the Ending Hunger team to raise awareness of global hunger issues, and to coordinate Kingo's efforts to combat hunger in Milwaukee and all parts of the world.

Mt. Meru Coffee Project - Instrumental in getting the Mt. Meru Coffee Project off the ground, Kingo and other Milwaukee establishments import coffee directly from farmers in Tanzania following fair trade practices.

Mwangaza Center, Tanzania - In the late 1900s, Kingo provided the funds to start the Mwangaza Center in Tanzania.  The Center empowers teachers, students, women and men to become enlightened leaders through various trainings and seminars.

Public Policy - The Evangelical Lutheran Church in America has developed social statements that "guide the life of this church and inform the conscience of its members in the spirit of Christian liberty." At Kingo we encourage members to be informed and engaged with policies that shape the social structure of our society. In addition, members/staff of Kingo Lutheran Church have been trained to lead Truth Events through the Kaleidoscope Institute and the Zeidler Center. Truth Events promote active listening on all sides of a topic.
